That’s my dad!! Super proud of him and wish we had someone as dedicated here in the Ohio/Kentucky area. My own child was just a victim of this messed up system and now at 7 isn’t welcome to go back to school because the school is focused on keeping percentage up for attendance and her special needs and medical issues make her a risk to them getting those numbers so they kicked her out. I found this podcast when researching how to help my child just be allowed to learn and along with pride I felt deep sadness for the children in my area that do not have advocates like this pushing for a better quality education. Teachers here are the ones dad mentions that either don’t care or are too young and the schools here are getting to be either so bad that it’s not an option or to pay. And my daughter’s school did give an option for her to stay, if I paid 5000 to 7000 is what I was told by the principal. . It’s crazy. Add to it that as parents we are criminally processed when our children aren’t in attendance while eliminating our ability to dictate what that looks like. I know this wasn’t recent, but it was needed. I’m fired up. I just hate that my area is so content to fail the kids. So so proud. TTFN DAD LOVE YOU
